I’m constantly asked, “Where can you get authentic Italian food in Pittsburgh?” Until recently, I didn’t have an answer. Last Saturday I had the opportunity to dine at Cenacolo- Pittsburgh’s first truly authentic Italian eatery, located in North Huntington, PA.
I’ve found my new favorite food. I was working a party, and my friend Steve Salvi, of Fede Pasta provided me with homemade pasta for my catering engagement. I had never tried Fede pasta before this weekend- it’s delicious.
Please be advised that Fede Pasta has posted a calendar on its homepage, and has several events coming up in the month of February. Pasta Classes, an Open House, and Valentine’s Day dinner will be offered. If you have a special event, or are interested in having the Chef design a small cooking class for you and your family or friends, please just ask!
If you haven’t heard of Fede Pasta in North Huntington, you’re about to. Chef Steve Salvi, proprietor of Fede Pasta, has always been passionate about making fine Italian food, and that has translated into his success as a professional pasta maker. With over 100 happy customers, and a steadily increasing customer base, Chef Salvi has moved into a larger warehouse space, and for the first time, has decided to offer Warehouse Dinners open to the public with guest Chefs, and Class Dinners.
Thank goodness the Atkin’s Revolution is over, I was beginning to think that I was the only one left enjoying pasta. After everyone realized that starches (in moderation) provide the body with glucose (essential to fuel the body), pasta once again became popular. Enough about the nutritional benefits of Pasta, I’m here to talk about the best pasta in Pittsburgh; it’s being produced at Fede Pasta in Irwin, PA.
