Carne Asada Recipe
Carne Asada Recipe
If you’re a regular reader of Pittsburgh Hot Plate, you know that I’m a huge fan of Mexican food. One of my favorites is Carne Asada- Carne Asada is a flavorful, tender cut of meat that can be eaten plain or sliced thin and put in tacos or burritos.
Carne Asada
Prep time 30 minutes
Serves 4-6
Ingredients:
4-5 pounds of good quality flank steak
4 cloves of peeled and minced garlic
2 bunches of cilantro
¼ cup olive oil
The juice of 3 limes
3 teaspoons ground black pepper
1 tablespoon kosher salt
Directions:
Place the minced garlic, chopped cilantro, olive oil, lime juice, black pepper and salt in a large metal bowl. Mix the ingredients together until they are fully incorporated. Place the steak in the bowl with the mixed ingredients, and make sure the meat if fully covered with the marinade.
Refrigerate for 24 hours.
Remove the steak from the refrigerator, and let sit out until it reaches room temperature.
Cook on a 350 degree grill for five minutes a side, and remove.
Let the meat stand for at least 20 minutes, the slice thin, and serve.
