Chocolate Frosting Recipe
I’ve been getting a lot of requests for a Chocolate Frosting Recipe lately. They’re actually quite easy to make- here’s my recipe- let me know how it works for you!
Serves 6-8, enough to frost an entire cake
Ingredients:
6 cups confectioner’s (powdered sugar)
2 cups dark, unsweetened cocoa powder
1 stick softened butter
½ cup unflavored shortening
6-8 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
2 teaspoons vanilla
Directions:
Sift together the powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Set side.
Place the butter, shortening, heavy whipping cream, and vanilla in a metal bowl and mix on high for 3-4 minutes until it becomes fully blended.
Add the powdered sugar/cocoa powder mixture to the shortening mixture. Begin mixing on low. Slowly increase the speed of the mixer until it is on high. Continue blending until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Use immediately to frost cookies, or cake.
Enjoy!

Why shortening? It kind of ruins its purity
Shortening provides a creamy consistency.
