Homemade granola is easy to make, and can be a satisfying snack. You can eat it by itself, or with milk. It’s good to carry with you in your car, and is even good to give as a gift. Try this easy to make recipe, and add nuts and dried fruits that you like!
Serves 6 to 8
Ingredients:
6 cups of rolled oats
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup chopped walnuts
½ cup peanuts
½ cup dried pineapple
½ cup dried mango
1 cup dried cherries
1 cup dried craisins
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup water
½ cup good quality maple syrup
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, pecans, walnuts, peanuts, dried pineapple, dried mango, dried cherries, and craisins.
In a small pot, place the brown sugar, water, and maple syrup. Cook on low-heat until the brown sugar dissolves, and the liquid becomes thick.
Place the brown sugar mixture over the oats and dried fruits, and mix. Slowly add the cinnamon, and salt.
Place this mixture on a foil-covered cookie, and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes, or until the granola becomes golden brown.
Let cool for at least 1 hour, then break apart and store in a plastic Ziploc bag, or sealed container.
Enjoy!

Thank you for the recipe, that sounds wonderful. I really like to eat granola with Greek yogurt and fresh berries for breakfast. 🙂
Homemade granola is really fun to make! Thanks for reading! Chef Chuck
Sounds great. Lots of dried fruits, and I love cinnamon. Looks like there’s plenty of that to flavor things.
Might have to try that one.
