Described as serving “Contemporary Thai Cuisine,” The Green Mango in Regent Square greets the diner with warm corral walls and a cozy atmosphere. Arriving on a Friday night we’re not surprised that the restaurant is booming; no available tables. After 20 minutes we finally take a seat and place an order for Thai Summer Rolls. If you’ve never had Tofu Summer Rolls ($6.95) you’re missing out…big time. Inside, is fresh lettuce, mint, cilantro, basil, vermicelli, all rolled in rice paper, and served with the Mango’s famous (and very tasty) dipping sauce. When you bite into the rolls you experience an immediate sensory overload; the crispness of the lettuce combined with the fresh herbs and dipping sauce (with ground peanuts) takes you to another plane of culinary existence…. You’ll understand what I’m talking about when you have the chance to “experience” one….really. Other varieties of Summer Rolls include Chicken, Roasted Pork, Roasted Duck, and Salmon; all delicious.
Another of our favorite dishes (yes, we’re regulars) are the Drunken Noodles ($10.00). With fat rice noodles, chili basil sauce, nappa cabbage, and either veggies, chicken, pork, beef or shrimp you’re sure to find a combination that suits your taste. Other menu items include: Phuket Pineapple Fried Rice ($11.50), Rad Na Noodles ($9.50), Lemon-Grass Beef or Pork ($11.95), Curried Beef and Pumpkin ($11.00, and highly recommended!) and of course Pad Thai ($9.50). All of the menu items that we have sampled during our numerous visits have been outstanding. The dishes are prepared freshly, and presented with great care.
Service at the Mango is better than average. The staff is efficient and courteous, but lacking enthusiasm at times.
If you’re in the mood for Thai food, The Green Mango should be on your short list. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is quaint, and it’s fun place to eat. With the many menu choices you’re sure to find something you like. Vegetarians will be especially happy to see all of the vegetable and noodle dishes.

I have to disagree about the summer rolls at Green Mango. I think it’s too much mint and vermicelli and not enough other flavors. The ones at Tram’s are far superior.
That said, Green Mango remains my favorite Thai in and around the city, hands-down. The pumpkin curry and pineapple curry are both out of this world. Since they opened the Irwin location, I’ve really been getting myself into trouble; we must eat Green Mango at least once a week! I should just have Mark take a percentage straight out of my paycheck.
Hi, great post.
Thanks Nicole!
