Background: In the spring of 2012, I came across a dog adoption event in Santa Monica, California. No thoughts of pet ownership were in my head upon entering, but when a malnourished Dalmatian crawled in my lap, it was clear I had a new family member. Similar stories occur thousands of times each week, but there is still a shortfall of suitable homes for these abandoned dogs – don’t they all deserve a second chance? Each year the lives of 2.1 million dogs are cut short due shelter over-crowding and the lack of financial means.

The purpose: Launched in March 2014, 20% of all revenue received by Grounds & Hounds Coffee Co. is donated to our rescue partner located closest to the product’s point of purchase. Coffee is the drink of revolutions. Where coffee has come, change has followed. Whether it is the storming of the Bastille, or the planning of the Boston tea party, coffee has served as a catalyst. So with a love of coffee, and a love of dogs, it’s time to revolutionize the way we treat our furry friends in need.

The goal: Grounds & Hounds was created with two goals; produce quality coffee and fund dog rescue efforts around the country. We strive to support the hard-working, local rescue organizations with funds generated by your purchase, which will help give our sheltered friends the second-chance that they deserve.

All the flavor of our Single Origin Peruvian beans, without any of the caffeine.

Paper & Slippers Blend

Blend of light & dark roast beans sourced from Peru, Nicaragua, and Mexico. Hints of brownie, blackberry, and blueberry.

Single Origin Ethiopian Sidamo

Bright and shining acidity, yet clean taste throughout. Notes of orange blossom, citrus, and subtle sweetness with a finish that is reminiscent of dark berries.

Alpha Blend

For the dark roast lovers, this big, bold coffee made from Arabica beans in Colombia, Guatemala, and Sumatra has notes of cocoa, vanilla, nutmeg, and smokiness.
