Grounds and Hounds Coffee Company

Background: In the spring of 2012, I came across a dog adoption event in Santa Monica, California. No thoughts of pet ownership were in my head upon entering, but when a malnourished Dalmatian crawled in my lap, it was clear I had a new family member. Similar stories occur thousands of times each week, but there is still a shortfall of suitable homes for these abandoned dogs – don’t they all deserve a second chance? Each year the lives of 2.1 million dogs are cut short due shelter over-crowding and the lack of financial means.
very morning it happens. Chef gets up, comes downstairs, and opens the door to my room. He asks if I want to go out in an annoying, overly-loud tone, “Wanna go outside?!” He repeats this phrase over and over. Of course I don’t, I’m still sleeping- HELLO! I’d prefer to rest a little while longer, but no such luck- he picks me up, and places me on the cold wet grass in the backyard.
I knew that action was needed, but I also knew that it would be difficult to start her on a new diet, minus the store-bought dog treats. After doing some research, I came up with a homemade dog food recipe. Before you try this for your pet, you may to talk to your vet. I’ve heard over and over again that you’re only supposed to give your dog approved food from an approved provider, but I’m not sure I agree. After feeding my dog with this recipe for the past three months, I’ve noticed her health improve considerably and she’s even dropped weight.
