Mad Mex, South Hills, PA

Well, kids, summer is almost here, and along with it comes my appetite for strong margaritas and chips and salsa! So, when the sun peeked through one of the 4,716 thunderstorms of the month, I grabbed my guy and headed out to Mad Mex!

Yo Rita, Pittsburgh, PA

There’s only so much one can expect when venturing to a restaurant with a sexy, mud-flap pin-up on it’s windows. My first impressions were wrong about Yo Rita. Then again, they were right.

Don Pablo’s, Monroeville, PA

Chain Restaurants…what’s to say? I’ve never been a huge fan, but there are exceptions. Friday’s, for example is a decent place; the food is good, the service is above average, and the drinks aren’t bad. Don Pablo’s is another example- the food is good, and you usually know what you’re going to get, no matter which location you choose.

El Campesino, Monroeville, PA

I’ve always loved Mexican food. Growing up in San Diego, I was lucky to be exposed to so much authentic Mexican cuisine. Since moving to Pittsburgh several years ago, I was finding good Mexican food to be elusive. My sister told me about a restaurant she had found in Monroeville, El Campesino.

Mad Mex, Monroeville, PA

We got to Mad Mex on a Friday night, and the place was buzzing. The bar was packed wall-to-wall with people trying to forget their work week; huge margaritas were being served by the bartenders along with Coronas, Dos Equis, and other Mexican-drink concoctions.
