Now for the bad news: I’m OVERWEIGHT. I know, I know…you’re all rolling your eyes. Sure, I’m “little”…I’m short. I’m like Snooki “little”…It ain’t “little” if you still got a muffin top. After a humiliating and eye-opening experience at the doctor, I decided that I could either bullshit all of you and allow myself to come across as one of those annoying people who eat TONS and never gains any weight, or I could use your support to start investigating a healthier lifestyle. I am 27 years old, I’ve never been married, no kids, and the wallpaper on my phone is a piece of pizza. Which one do you think I chose?
I like Mondays. The potential for a good week gets me jazzed! Still fresh from the weekend, I’m making lists and getting things done. By Tuesday, the weekend buzz has worn off and the reality of four more workdays looms over my head like my frizzy hair. By midweek, I need some kind of fun to shake off stress and break up the week. That’s why on Wednesday nights, I love to go to Rock Bottom in the Waterfront to watch local favorites GOOD BROTHER EARL play some rockin’ acoustic sets.

To participate in the contest, entrants should send in their recipe to Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania by Monday, September 20th. A chef judge will review the recipes and choose three finalists to bring their creations to the AppleJamm festival at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, Fox Chapel, on September 25th where the top AppleTizer will be announced. Mom’s got to eat.
So treat her on Mothers’ Day. Sure, you may be most famous for your culinary prowess with frozen pizza, but this is a once-a-year event and your chance to really impress with a quick and easy brunch of cinnamon rolls and spinach quiche.
These recipes are amended so that even a novice baker can achieve great results. Just be sure to go to the store and have everything on-hand before you start.
