Longhorn Steakhouse, Pittsburgh, PA

I’m not a huge fan of chain-restaurants. I usually prefer small, privately owned establishments because they often have their own personalities, and more importantly creative, non-corporate food. That being said, we decided to go to Longhorn Steakhouse for the most important reason of all- we had a gift card.

Sausalido is located in hip neighborhood of Bloomfield. On this Wednesday night (one day before Thanksgiving) the Italian district was bustling with hungry patrons, and people celebrating the end of the work week.

Mitchell’s Fish Market, Pittsburgh, PA

Every once in a while it’s important to indulge in some high-calorie fare. A few co-workers and I decided that it was time to have some lobsters, so we headed to Mitchell’s Fish Market at the Waterfront. I was excited because it had been years since I had had delicious lobster.

Cindy DeFlavio of Cibo in Regent Square

Unless you’ve been under a rock, it’s hard to miss all of the changes that have been taking place on Braddock Avenue. Most noticeably, there have been a myriad of new restaurants openings. One of those eateries, Cibo, has enjoyed a lot of early success. It’s changing menu, fresh seafood and homemade pastas have hungry patrons spreading the good word.

If you live in Regent Square, chances are you’ve had a meal at Square Cafe on Braddock Avenue. Their buttermilk pancakes, fluffy omelets, and deliciously rich coffee keep customers coming back again and again.

Alma Pan-Latin Kitchen, Pittsburgh, PA

Alma Pan-Latin Kitchen is located on South Braddock and Forbes Avenue in Pittsburgh- one of the busiest intersections in the city. So, any restaurant should do well in that location, right? Well, Calli’s came and went in a matter of months, so keep your fingers crossed for Alma.
