Of course Spoon has great service, a nice atmosphere and an extensive wine list, but most importantly, the food is exceptional.

Toast, Pittsburgh, PA

I stopped into Toast for a few late-night appetizers on Wednesday. The space is quaint; small, warm and inviting. The walls were delicious-red, and the lighting was dim. Small tables were positioned on the right hand side of the restaurant. There was a bar on the left, mostly filled, with patrons enjoying cocktails and large plates of food.

Pittsburgh has been lacking in the Mexican food department- until recently. A few semi-authentic restaurants have popped up in the city. One of these eateries is Verde, in East Liberty. If you’re coming from the east, simply drive down Penn Avenue until you see a colossal lime-green building.

Cindy DeFlavio of Cibo in Regent Square

Unless you’ve been under a rock, it’s hard to miss all of the changes that have been taking place on Braddock Avenue. Most noticeably, there have been a myriad of new restaurants openings. One of those eateries, Cibo, has enjoyed a lot of early success. It’s changing menu, fresh seafood and homemade pastas have hungry patrons spreading the good word.

Curry Away in Edgewood

There’s a small restaurant by the name of Curry Away on Edgewood Avenue in the small business/commercial district in Edgewood. Nestled between a car dealership, and a chiropractor, this authentic eatery serves some of the best Thai cuisine in the area. If you like all-things curry, you will be pleasantly surprised with the food being served at Curry Away.
